Skaara is the son of Kasuf and brother to Sha're, Daniel Jackson's wife. He first met the team when the arrived on Abydos through the Chappa'ai. O'Neill convinced the Abydonian people to fight the Goa'uld Ra. Skaara and other young boys agreed to fight and during this time a deep bond formed with Colonel O'Neill. It was with regret that he thought they would never meet again but a year later, he came through the Stargate again. He and Daniel Jackson greeted them. What would and should have been a joyous occasion was marred by the appearance of Teal'c the First Prime to Apophis and other Jaffa loyal to the Goa'uld. They took Sha're to be a candidate for the host body for Apophis' wife. Skaara fought and was taken captive as well. Both he and his sister were chosen to host Goa'uld symbiotes. Skaara became Klorel, son to Apophis. It was unknown where Klorel (Skaara) had gone until O'Neill and his team came aboard his mother ship that was on his way to attack Earth. Divine intervention? Fate? No one can say but O'Neill tried to reach Skaara who was sharing his body with Klorel. It worked but only temporary and soon the Goa'uld was in control again and not going to give his host body up. Again they were separated and again Jack and Daniel tried to find both Sha're and Skaara. Their paths were to cross again when fate took a hand in Skaara's life. His symbiote injured enough that he could claw his way to the surface, he begged the Tolan's to help him escape the 'demon'. They granted his request and trial was set up. He was allowed to choose his defenders and of course he chose Daniel and Jack O'Neill. The trial went in his favor and it was ruled that the symbiote would have to be removed. Skaara returned to Abydos where after a time, he became engaged to be married. Fate stepped in again and an Ascended Daniel visited him to tell him that the Abydonians will not be alone in their fight against Anubis. He enters the village during this battle and moments before his ascension. His culture makes him free with a hug if he likes you. Skaara is also very loyal and feels things deeply. As a host to a Goa’uld, he was conscious of his actions but couldn’t do anything to stop it. That left an emotional scar and while he’s still quick to smile, there is a deep sadness beneath it all. Skaara is a survivor. As a desert culture, it’s something that he learned at a very young age. He doesn’t have a problem with killing someone to protect his people or his land. He is a strong believer in an eye for an eye. |
